Julian studied Drama and English Literature at York St. Johns University. Since graduating, he has worked constantly in theatre and television for over 20 years.
As a public schoolboy with an R.P. accent and a classic English Gentlemen look, in 2009 he landed a dream role playing Sherlock Holmes in a National Theatre tour. The play, a classic British farce, proved to be a great success and he has since reprised the role on over 180 occasions. In television Julian was recently seen as Lord Hastings in ITV’s Victoria.
When not working as an actor, Julian is something of a sports fanatic, and can be found avidly following the progress of England and Yorkshire Cricket as well as playing for his local village side. Later in the year he is looking forward to once again reprising his role as Sherlock, in the sequel, ‘Holmes and Mrs. Hudson’.
